English FE employers make final offer

UNISON members in English further education colleges will be consulted after the Association of Colleges made its final pay recommendation of a consolidated 0.2% or £50 a year pay rise, whichever is the greater.

This final offer follows our rejection of previous non-consolidated pay recommendation offers, which would not have been added to pay scales or count towards pensions.

The joint trade unions have made it clear that they consider this to be a measly and unfair offer; especially when compared with the current high rate of inflation, but recognise that it is an approach being taken by employers in other sectors.

UNISON's further education and sixth form committee plans to consult appropriate members on the offer in early Septemer, to make sure all college workers have a chance to take part.

It will decide the exact timetable and its position on the offer later.
